Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Started™ trademark registration include?
Started™ trademark application includes preparation of your application for federal registration of your trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office by a licensed trademark lawyer located in the U.S.
What is the $275 filing fee charged by the United States Trademark Office?
The United States Patent and Trademark Office charges a fee for each class your trademark is filed under. This is a nonrefundable fee charged by the U.S. Trademark Office.
What if someone else has already registered my trademark?
Your Started™ trademark registration application includes a direct conflict check. This means a Started™ trademark lawyer will seach the U.S. Trademark database to see if there is an exact match for your name. If someone else has a registration, your trademark lawyer will contact you directly to explain your options. Because of the time spent by the trademark lawyer reviewing your application and conducting the direct conflict check, no part of your Started™ fee will be refunded, and your application fee paid to the U.S. Trademark Office will not be refunded because the U.S. Trademark Office does not offer refunds.
How long does it take for Started™ to file my trademark registration application?
Most applications are filed within 48 hours of your payment. Depending on your responses to the trademark registration questionaire, the lawyer assigned your file may require additional information or clarification before your application can be submitted to the U.S. Trademark Office. If additional information is needed, it may take longer than the normal 48 hours to complete your filing.
